Xanthan gum is a gom that can be used as a thickener. You can also use this tasteless powder from FunCakes to make edible glue, gum paste and pastillage.

Recipe to make edible glue: mix 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum with 4 tablespoons water. It will take a approx. 10 - 20 minutes to dissolve. It will be a clear, no colour glue.

Recipe to make quick pastillage: Blend and stir 1 teaspoon xanthan gum into 100 gram Royal Icing. Allow to rest for approx. 1 hour before use. Recipe to make gum paste: take 5 gram xanthan gum and 250 gram fondant. Knead into the fondant and ideally allow to rest for 20 - 30 minutes before use.
