With the FMM Mexican Alpaca Tappit you can create beautiful Mexican themed decorations! With the Mexican set you can make an alpaca (llama), cactus and sombrero. This tappit cutter from FMM is ideal for making decorations for your cupcakes, cakes and of course cookies! Or place the mexican themed decorations on a wire and you have fun cake topper.
These cutters work best if you knead the marzipan or fondant (mixed with some tylo powder) well and then roll them out very thinly. Then press the desired figure down on the paste and tap it out of the cutter. The set consists out of a ruler like cutters and English instructions.
How to use: Lightly grease a non-stick board with a white fat or shortening and roll out Gum Paste very thinly. Very lightly dust the top surface of your paste with Cornflour (cornstarch). Press the tappit set firmly onto the paste ensuring that you press all areas of the cutter. 'Flick' the cutter off the paste by placing a fingernail under one end and lifting rapidly. The paste should remain on the board. Carefully peel away the excess paste leaving your required letters or shapes. Lift the cut shapes with a palette knife and fix in position with a little edible glue. As with Tappits cutters the paste can be coloured before cutting out, painted or dusted with lustre colours before fixing in position. You may need to practice a little to get the thickness of the rolled paste just right - it needs to be thin enough the cut through but be thick enough to allow the detail on the cutters to show.
