Aloha! With these leaf cutters from PME its easy to create life like sugar frangipani flowers. The frangipani flowers have a romantic fragrance and a wide choice of warm tropical colours. In Hawaii they call these tropical flower Plumeria, on many other Pacific Isands its called Frangipani. This beautiful flower is often used in leis.
Create realistic looking Plumeria flowers for a wedding cake or a special occasion cake. The Frangipani Set consists of 3 teardrop / leaf cutters in various sizes, so that you can create a whole bunch of flowers. You can also use Plumeria Cutter to create leaves.
To create Frangipani Flowers, roll you petal paste, gum paste, flower paste or fondant icing fairly thin. Cut out 5 petals using one of the cutters, so they all have the same size. Place petals on a foam pad and using a balling tool roll from the edges to the middle to gently cup each petal. Once all the petals are softly cupped place on top of each other in a fan shape, glueing each in place as they are lain down by applying a thin glue brush stroke on the overlapping edges at the bottom of each petal. Once all the petals are lined up in a fan shape roll up like a swiss roll, till the first petal overlaps the last, you can then glue this in place if you so wish. Then gently twist the end of the petals in a spiral.
Place flowers in a large nozzle tube or in your hand and use your fingers or a large balling tool to gently open up the flower, rolling around in a circular motion in the direction of the petals till you are happy with the shape. Leave in a nozzle tube to firm up. Colour your flower as disired with edible dust powder.
